COVID-19: FG Announced when schools will resume nation wide

The minister of state for education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, made the disclosure on Thursday, May 21, during the briefing by the presidential task force on COVID-19, Tribune reports.

He, however, said that the reopening of faculties won't be wiped out fortnight as being speculated in some quarters.

The minister stated that the faculties would be reopened when the security of the varsity children might be guaranteed.

He noted that the govt was being careful to not endanger the lives of the varsity children.

Nwajiuba stated that the ministry of education was trying to place measures in situ which will make sure the safety of youngsters before the faculties are reopened.

The federal had ordered the indefinite closure of educational institutions nationwide as a part of measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
