It was announced earlier this morning that the US president Donald Trump has tested positive for covid 19.

On CNN News Live Broadcast , Donald Trump took to his Twitter handle saying that he,his wife and son tested positive.

President Trump and first lady Melania Trump have tested positive for Covid-19. they're now quarantining. Here's where he's been in the week .

The White House says they're "both well," and Trump is predicted to continue his duties while recovering.

Vice President Mike Pence and therefore the second lady tested negative, consistent with his spokesperson.

RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has also tested positive.

US Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said he wishes “the President and therefore the first lady and each American fighting Covid-19 a swift and complete recovery.” 

Azar is speaking before the a House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis hearing.

He said, “I wish to precise my gratitude on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services and therefore the Trump administration for the support that Congress has provided throughout this unprecedented crisis.”

After President Trump tested positive for Covid-19, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told CNN she hopes that this may be a “lesson learned” by the remainder of the country “that you've got to wear your mask.”

“The remainder of the country has got to know that even with the precautions taken surrounding the President that folks are susceptible,” Pelosi said Friday. “Hopefully, this may be a message to the remainder of the country though, that you simply need to wear your mask. you've got to be tested.”

“That isn't what the White House was engaged in. Now, hopefully they're going to send a special message to the country or maybe if they do not , that it'll be a lesson learned by the remainder of the country,” she added.

Pelosi said she was also tested this morning out of an abundance of caution since she had meetings with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who also announced that he tested negative this morning. Pelosi remains awaiting results.

“As sad because the diagnosis is that the President and first lady have, maybe it's the pivotal moment to require us to a special place as we fight this vicious virus supported science, not on politics,” she added.
